3D illusions are a magical blend of artistic expression and computer graphic technology.  Instructions (from back of book): All you need to “see” the 3D illusion on the front cover are your two eyes and some patience!  To discover your Magic Eye, focus your eyes as if you were looking at a faraway object; this is called “diverging” your eyes.

One easy way to do this is to hold the book against your nose and very, very slowly pull the book away from your face.  Do not focus on the image; let the image come into focus.  Another way to do this is to focus on a reflection on the shiny cover, then just keep staring at the reflection. This may take several attempts. Be patient, eventually, the 3D image will magically appear.

Likes: What a fun book!  This was the second in the series and my family had as much fun with it, as they had with others in the series.  Some family members could easily see the images, while others struggled.  Most got the hang of it quickly, by allowing their eyes to relax and almost cross, letting the images come to life.

Dislikes: The only dislike I have is that I no longer own the series.

In Closing: These books really are amazing and fun to play with.  Many years ago, when my children were young, we spent hours going through the books and trying to see what would pop up next.  Sadly, only a few of the books in the 3D series remain on my bookshelf.  Some were loaned and never returned, others simply wore out.  I have provided links, so you can enjoy them as well.
